68th Annual Meeting of the BMA of AmericaLetter From Our President…
Greetings to the churches of the BMA of America: Well, it is nearing that time of the year when we have the opportunity to gather and conduct the Lord’s business as an Association. This note is to remind each one that this May 1-3 has been set aside as the time for our 2017 annual meeting to convene in Arlington, Texas. It is my prayer that God will continue to bless all of our departments, agencies and churches. I hope you are already making plans for your church to be represented at this year’s meeting.

Again this year you will be given the opportunity to choose between several great breakout sessions presented this year by our National departments and agencies. It is the desire of your officers and those involved in planning to provide you with materials and practical instruction that you will be able to
use in your respective fields of service. Of course, these are provided in addition to the times of conducting business and opportunities to gather for worship.

Please review the enclosed preliminary schedule of this year’s meeting. This will help you in your planning and travel schedule. Remember, this year’s theme “Brick by Brick” is built around teamwork with the emphasis on increasing our attendance for the purpose of strengthening every area of our ministry. Make plans now to join us and may God bless every aspect of our time together.

Our Renewal Retreat

To the churches of the BMA of Missouri

I was very appreciative of the response and approval of the renewal weekend for the pastors and staff of our work. If you were not able to be at the meeting let me encourage you to be looking in the paper for upcoming communications about the renewal weekend.

This is simply an effort to get us as pastors on the same page and help us to move forward as growing churches and a missions planting association. I have given November 30th as a deadline to share possible dates for the weekend and then will need each of our pastors to communicate the dates that work for them and we will simply choose the dates that work for the most pastors.

Sanctity of Human Life Sunday

Dr. John M. Adams Executive Director – Moral Action
The sanctity of life defies humanity as being more sacred than the rest of God’s creation. In Genesis 9:3 God told humans that
they have the authority to kill and eat other forms of life; but in Genesis 9:6 the murdering of other human beings is totally forbidden with the penalty pronounced as death.

God’s churches and individual believers should pause on Sunday, January 17, 2016, and reflect on the beauty of life in the
womb and to pray for the proponents of abortion and euthanasia. While the sanctity of life ethics may be disparaged by the
world, it is God’s voice. The Bible is clear: human life is precious at all ages. We are reminded by Ethics leader Dr. Russell Moore that we have to say things to each other that Christians shouldn’t have to say:
1. Mothers shouldn’t kill their – babies.
2. Fathers shouldn’t abandon their – families.
3. No human life is – worthless.
The very fact that these thoughts should be proclaimed is a true reminder of the horrors of this present world’s darkness. So may we join millions of others on Sanctity of Human Life Sunday, January 17, 2016 and love life.
